Exelis and partner U&U Engineering have won a more than $10 million contract to supply night vision tubes to the government of Taiwan.

The companies are scheduled to deliver the tubes during the first six months of 2015 under the direct commercial sale contract, Exelis said Tuesday.

“This is our first contract award of night vision equipment for the Taiwanese military, and we will work diligently with our partner U&U Engineering to deliver… [the third generation equipment],” said Nick Bobay, president and general manager of Exelis night vision and communications services.

The night vision tube is designed to help soldiers gain situational awareness and tactical advantage on the battlefield, Exelis says.

Exelis will manufacture the product at its Roanoke, Virginia-based facility.
