A new version of the company’s Digital Modular Radio product is designed to have a high-frequency routing software that will work to leverage up to eight virtual channels, General Dynamics said Wednesday.

The company also embedded an HF channel exploitation architecture in the DMR platform with the goal of expanding the system’s capacity for satellite-based communications.

The U.S. Navy uses the General Dynamics-built radio technology for activities on land and aboard surface and subsurface vessels.

General Dynamics is working with the military service to integrate a new networking waveform into the branch’s suite of multichannel radios to allow interoperability with the Mobile User Objective System satellite.
