The company said Wednesday it will train as many as 20 Gabon-based private organizations in long-term road maintenance through the contract.

The European Union finances the project under a sector governance support initiative aimed at developing strategies for public finance, mining, biodiversity and highway management.

Louis Berger and its partners will also work with Gabon’s general directorate of road and airfield maintenance to establish and implement policies.

The company has supported institutional capacity building efforts in Gabon between 2007 and 2012 through the EU-backed Sector Governance Support Program.
