Engility Holdings has won a potential five-year, $27.5 million recompete task order to help the U.S. Navy develop automated technology for aerial refueling of manned and unmanned aircraft.

The company said Monday it will continue to provide technical services to the aircraft department at the Naval Air Warfare Center in Maryland.

“Engility personnel have supported development of GPS technologies for the Navy’s automated aerial refueling program for more than 10 years,” said Engility President and CEO Tony Smeraglinolo, an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 list for 2015.

Services covered by the contract include program management, engineering, system architecture, guidance quality assessment, test planning, rapid prototyping and flight test data analysis.

The order was awarded through a recompete and work will occur at Engility’s facility in Hollywood, Maryland.
