Raytheon has designed and built a maritime surveillance hub for maritime agencies in the Philippines under a contract with the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency.

The National Coast Watch Center is equipped with Raytheon-made technologies that work to detect and deter security threats near Philippine territorial waters, the company said Monday.

“The center’s opening represents our commitment to providing critical services and solutions to help countries mitigate the risk of illicit weapons and materials crossing their sovereign borders,” said Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheon’s intelligence, information and services business.

The company has also provided surveillance and communication systems and related training services to maritime forces based in Palawan and Cebu.

Raytheon performed the work through the Cooperative Threat Reduction Integrating Contract II.
