Verizon Enterprise Solutions has introduced a service that allows federal agencies, universities and other public institutions to adopt and pay for its cloud platform on an on-demand basis through instance-based virtual systems.
The instance-based virtual devices intend to help information technology administrators to manage variable or seasonal IT workloads using the company’s Enterprise Cloud: Federal Edition infrastructure-as-a-service offering, the Verizon subsidiary said Thursday.
Michael Maiorana, senior vice president of public sector markets at Verizon Enterprise Solutions, said the new option seeks to provide government clients “with the flexibility and choice they need to meet their operational objectives.â€
The virtual machines meet the risk management guidelines of the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, the company said.
