Smartphone1 EbizCenturyLink’s Lisa Bruch and AT&T’s Mike Leff both view the General Services Administration’s Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions contract vehicle as a way to meet changing federal telecommunications requirements, FCW reported Saturday.

Bruch, CenturyLink’s vice president of federal sales and marketing, told FCW she thought GSA succeeded in its last effort to manage evolving technological requirements of agencies under the previous FTS2001 and Networx telecom initiatives.

The potential 15-year, $50 billion EIS vehicle is one aspect of GSA’s Network Services 2020 framework, according to FCW.

Leff, vice president of AT&T’s federal civilian business, said the government is starting to move from point to end-to-end services as agencies transition to a consumption-based model, Mark Rockwell reports.

“NS2020 and contracts like EIS are well aligned to where industry is headed,” Leff told FCW.

Leff added the NS2020 contract is intended to address trends in IT and telecommunications convergence, network, mobility, cloud and the Internet of Things, FCW reports.

EIS covers data, voice, contact center, cloud, data center, wireless and satellite communications services.
